The Indian basket of crude oil traded at $51.60 per barrel (bbl) on August 8. This was higher than the price of $51.04 per bbl the basket traded on August 7.

The Indian basket of crude oil defines the benchmark price at which crude oil is sourced by Indian refiners.

The data is computed and published by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

In rupee terms, the price of the Indian basket increased to Rs 3,288.77 per bbl on August 8 as compared to Rs 3,253.35 per bbl on August 7. The rupee closed unchanged at Rs. 63.74 per dollar on August 8 as compared to August 7.
