Mumbai: Mumbai University on Monday announced that students who apply for copies of their answer sheets will get the digital images in their email, instead of the traditional method of giving physical copies. This practice will be adopted by all the colleges under the university.
The MU has also decreased the fees for getting copies and for revaluation by 50%. A statement said that the decision was taken during a Management Committee meeting held on Monday.
“The online marking system has brought down the expense of making photocopies of answer sheets, as the digital images will now be sent by email. Students will now have to pay ₹50 for getting copies,” said Deputy Registrar Leeladhar Bansod.
He also said that the online assessment has ensured that the evaluators do not have to travel all the way to the university to re-evaluate answer sheets, as they will get them delivered to their respective colleges. Hence, students will now have to pay ₹250 if they wish to have their answer sheets re-evaluated.
Meanwhile, the MU issued a circular on Monday stating that additional dearness allowance of one day will be given to teachers who assess more than 50 answer sheets in a single day. The announcement has been made in an effort to speed up the assessment process, as the MU has already been under fire for missing two deadlines for announcing results.
So far, the university has declared results of 281 examinations.
