Right wing activists stage fast on 'delay' in culprits arrest

Activists of various right wing outfits staged a one day fast here and other places in Dakshina Kannada district in protest against police 'inaction' that delayed the arrest of the culprits behind the of an worker even after a month of his death.

The protests were held before the deputyCommissioner's office here and Bantwal, Moodbidri, Sullia and Puttur taluks.


Addressing the protestors, VHP leader Jagadish Shenava alleged that police had failed to nab the criminals behindthe of Sarath Madiwala. Attacks were recurring again in the districtdespite declaring prohibitory orders for 60 days,

He also alleged that Hindu leaders were falsely implicated in the case of stone-pelting at Madiwala's funeral procession.

VHP working president M B Puranik alleged that therewas 'influence' from neighbouring fordisturbing peace in Bantwal, Suratkal and Mangaluru.
