What is the world's biggest worry today? People are more worried about their job, more than their health, poverty or terrorism. A recent survey by Ipsos, a global market research and a consulting firm, conducted a survey of people across 26 countries to find out unemployment as the top issue around the world.

Thirty-six per cent people say unemployment is their biggest worry, followed by 34 percent whose biggest worry is financial/political corruption. 33 percent people say their biggest worry is poverty & social inequality. Only 20 percent are worried about terrorism which ranks sixth in the list, after crime & violence (30 percent) and healthcare (23 percent).

People are least worried about climate change (9 percent), Inflation (9 percent), childhood obesity       (3 percent) and access to credit (2 percent).

Financial/political corruption (45 percent) is the biggest worry of Indians, followed closely by unemployment (40 percent). The jobs worry in India has increased 2 percent in July over June, most likely due to the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) which has paralysed businesses as they are confused about its complex structure.

People in Spain (65 percent), Italy (63 percent), South Korea (63 percent), Serbia (58 percent), South Africa (58 percent), Argentina (47 percent), France (45 percent), Saudi Arabia (43 percent) and Brazil (42 percent) are the most worried about unemployment.

Participants in China were not shown the full list of topics. Financial/political corruption, poverty and social inequality, taxes and rise of extremism were excluded from the list shown to Chinese participants.
