Three TN policemen held for robbing train passenger

Three police personnel have been arrested for allegedly robbing a train passenger, police said today.

The police men belonging to the 13th battalion of Special Police were arrested last night for allegedly robbing a passenger who was taking rest at the waiting hall of station.


The three men, Aruldoss, Irudayaraj and Ramakrishnan, had reportedly threatened the passenger claiming that he had stolen money and other things, police said.

They allegedly forced the passenger to part with his money, a wrist watch and a smart phone that he had recently purchased.

Following this, a complaint was lodged by the victim and after a thorough probe, it was established that the trio had robbed the passenger, police said.

The personal belongings of the victim have been recovered from the three policemen who were deployed at the railway station premises at the time of the incident.

The three men were remanded to judicial custody today by a and have been lodged in Puzhal prison, near here.
