The Telugu Desam Party has advised opposition leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to change his attitude in order to win people’s confidence and not indulge in provocative speeches and verbal attack on the ruling party as well as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is attempting politicalsuicide by his tirade against the Chief Minister,” Minister Pithani Satyanarayana said. He was reacting to Mr. Jagan’s alleged comments at a recent public meeting in Nandyal where the latter had said there was nothing wrong if people like Mr. Naidu were shot in public.
The Minister criticised Mr. Jagan for his outrageous comments against the Chief Minister claiming that it exposed Mr. Jagan’s inclination to come to power by any means. “It is unbecoming of Mr. Jagan to verbally attack Mr. Naidu who is of the age of his father,” he said.
He faulted the YSRC president for his claims about the TDP encouraging defection from other parties and recalled that it was the YSRC which in fact had encouraged defections from the Congress in the past.
“A majority of the MLAs who joined the TDP from the YSRC were elder to Mr. Jagan. They joined the TDP as they had felt slighted by Mr. Jagan,” he said.
People’s court
He advised the Opposition leader to uphold the decency and decorum of his position or else he would be taught a lesson in people’s court.
