Ex-railway employee, daughter-in-law killed by nephew

A retired railway employee and his daughter in-were murdered by a kin who also injured two other family members in Bihar's Munger district today, according to a police officer.

The incident took place in Ashiqpur locality under the jurisdiction of East Colony police station.


A man identified as Satyam barged into his uncle Jagdish Hari's house early this morning and fatally slit the throat of Hari and his daughter-in-Seema Kumari with a knife, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashish Bharti said.

Satyam also attacked his cousins Kiran Kumar and Ranjita Kumar. They were injured in the attack, the SP said.

The motive behind the incident was under investigation, Bharti said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured persons admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment.

Satyam was absconding, the SP said, adding that raids were being carried out to nab the assailant.

Satyam was out on bail in the case of his wife, Bharti said.
