He may be over 34 and been out of cricket for more than four years, but with the Kerala High Court revoking the BCCI’s life ban imposed on him, cricketer S. Sreesanth is raring to go.
“I want to play the Ranji Trophy again and my dream is to play for India again,” Sreesanth told The Hindu here on Monday. “I will have to start from scratch, but hopefully, I will make a mark again.”
Sreesanth said he felt fitter than ever before.
“I am 100 per cent fit, may be fitter than what I used to be. I am ready to take a fitness test now. I’ve been playing practice matches,” said Sreesanth, who has been busy off the field the last few years and has acted in movies too.
“The KCA has offered me their support, I am waiting to hear from the BCCI. And, hopefully, I think the BCCI will now give me the NOC to go to Scotland, the offer to play the Scottish League is still there.”
Meanwhile, former KCA president and BCCI vice-president T.C. Mathew said the national cricket body should now take a soft stand on Sreesanth.
“The High Court has cleared Sreesanth, the BCCI should not stand in the way now. They should also clear all the money due to him,” said Mathew.
