Tenant farmer commits suicide

A tenant farmer, E. Lakshmi (40), of Chinnakodur mandal headquarters committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her farm late Saturday night. According to sources, Lakshmi took six acres on lease and her crop of maize completely dried up resulting in huge debts. During last year also she had faced a similar crop loss. Unable to find out a way out, she took the extreme step. Chinnakodur police registered a case and are investigating.
