Vijayan accuses BJP and RSS of propagating 'lies' to 'defame'

Chief Minister today accused the (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of "propagating lies" to "defame" the state, a day after Union minister charged the ruling CPI(M) of unleashing violence and eliminating rivals.

Vijayan made the accusation even as the issue of political violence involving members of the CPI(M) and the rocked the first day of the state Assembly, leading to its adjournment after the Congress-led opposition stalled the proceedings.

"We have also asked all political parties to take utmost vigil to ensure that their followers are not indulging in violence. There may be criminal elements which might have crept into political parties. Political parties should deal with them," he said.
