Mumbai: In a shocking incident, Indian techie working in United States found his mother's decomposed body when he reached his Mumbai house.
The 63-year-old woman, identified as Asha Sahani, was found in her residence in Mumbai's suburban Andheri, said a senior police official.
"She had been living alone at her apartment in Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri after the death of her husband. Her only son, Rituraj, is a software engineer and stays in the US," NDTV quoted the official as saying
Rituraj, who landed in Mumbai on Sunday and reached his house in Lokhandwala, rang his door bell only to find no response from inside. He later called a key maker and got the door opened.
Officials said that the body of the woman was completely decomposed. However, the exact time of death and other details are not yet available.
Her body has been sent to hospital for post-mortem.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and an investigation is underway.
