Rugby India girls finish fourth

The Indian girls’ rugby team finished fourth at the Asia under-20 Rugby Sevens Series in Hong Kong. Captained by Ruchi Shetty, the side won three out of six matches in the seven-nation competition, played in a round-robin league format.

On the first day, the Rugby India girls lost to Thailand (36-0), defeated Malaysia (10-0), but again lost to China (32-0) and Hong Kong (39-0).

India turned things around on the second day, registering victories over Singapore (10-5) and Uzbekistan (22-15). The team is supported by Societe Generale.

Final rankings: 1. China, 2. Thailand, 3. Hong Kong, 4. India, 5. Singapore, 6. Malaysia, 7. Uzbekistan.
