A bovine smuggler was today arrested in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, foiling his attempt to smuggle five bovine animals to the valley, police said.
Acting on a specific information, a police team laid a trap at Changer Nallah Tuksan in Mahore Tehsil of Reasi and intercepted a man who was carrying five bovine animals without any legal document, a police spokesman said.
He said the man, identified as Rehmat Ali of village Shikari-Mahore, was arrested and the animals rescued.
Ali intended to smuggle the bovine animals towards Kashmir, the spokesman said, adding a case was registered against him.
