Five days after she went missing, Korlapati Surya Kumari’s body was found in Ryves Canal near Komatigunta village of Kankipadu Mandal.
The 25-year-old’s doctor’s body had decomposed beyond recognition.
On Saturday, locals near Kuramaiah Vanthena on Sambamurthy Road informed the police about an abandoned scooter near the Ryves Canal. Police found that it was Kumari’s vehicle and deployed NDRF teams, who launched a search operation downstream.
Later, the body was found near Komatigunta Locks in a decomposed state.
