Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take adequate measures to stop the clashes.

The Chief Minister had convened a meeting of the state leaders of and Bharatiya Janata Party-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh combine on July 31 to discuss ways and means to ensure peace.

The meeting decided to hold similar meetings in three districts as a follow-up. An all-party meeting is also scheduled for August 6, the said.
