Announces sops for their welfare

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who was camping at his farmhouse near Gajwel, on Friday visited two villages of Shamirpet mandal and announced sops for their development.

At Keshavaram where he went first, Mr. Rao announced sanction of ₹12 crore at the gram sabha and promised another ₹12 crore if required. He offered the amount when the villagers requested him to ground works costing ₹10 crore. The necessary government orders would be issued on Saturday and the works would start next day, he said.

Among the works promised by him were a community hall costing ₹75 lakh and a building exclusively for women for ₹30 lakh. He asked officials to complete mutation of revenue records of Keshavaram in 15 days. All the 374 tanks in the Medchal Assembly constituency would be filled with water of the Kaleswaram project.

At Laxmapur, Mr. Rao interacted with villagers and later told a meeting that the local tank would get water from Kaleswaram next year. It would be full of water all 365 days in the year. He hoped that the face of the village changed with prosperity all around.

Mr. Rao announced sanction of ₹15 crore for the village and advised villagers to devote one day a week to resolving power issues. With the amount that was sanctioned, he said, a function hall costing ₹75 lakh, a building for women and a community hall would be constructed.

He also announced a hundred double bedroom houses for the village. He asked farmers to remove automatic starters to their pumpsets after introduction of 24-hour power supply to agriculture.
