Biotech major Monsanto India today posted 5.08 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 54.48 crore for the first quarter ended June on lower income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 57.40 crore in the same quarter last year, it said in a BSE filing.
The company's income fell marginally to Rs 240.29 crore in the April-June quarter of the 2017-18 fiscal from Rs 243.48 crore in the year-ago period.
The shares of the company rose 0.49 per cent to settle at Rs 2,699.30 apiece on the BSE today.
