The Punjab Council of Ministers today mourned the demise of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's mother 'Rajmata' Mohinder Kaur.
The ministers led by the chief minister observed a two- minute silence as a mark of respect to the 'Rajmata', who passed away on July 24 after a prolonged illness.
In a resolution, unanimously adopted by the council to condole the passing away of the 'Rajmata', they described her as an iconic personality whose contribution for the uplift of the underprivileged will be remembered.
Her exemplary contribution to the empowerment of women, spread of education among children, besides providing succour to the poverty-stricken sections of the society would always remain a source of inspiration for leaders of the modern times, the resolution said.
