Tension prevailed at D-Cinemaas, the multiplex owned by actor Dileep at Chalakudy, on Friday evening when the municipal authorities reached the theatre to seal it.
A special council meeting of the Chalakudy municipality on Thursday had decided to ask D-Cinemaas to suspend operations till the ongoing Vigilance investigation is completed. But workers staged a protiest when the municipal authorities reached the multiplex by 6 p.m. They argued that its operations cannot be stopped as they have already sold tickets online for the shows on Friday. The police intervened when the workers resisted the sealing procedures.
Finally a consensus was reached between the municipal authorities and the theatre management that the multiplex will be closed after Friday’s shows.
