He was attacked in his Rohini Sector 16 office

A 46-year-old contractor with the Delhi Jal Board was shot dead on Tuesday night in his Rohini Sector 16 office. The police have registered a case.

Son finds body

Babu Lal Yadav was shot around 11 p.m. while waiting for his son after returning from a site. A worker at the premises told the police that two men had asked him for directions to Mr. Yadav’s office. The duo allegedly went inside the building and exited within 10 minutes. Mr. Lal’s body was discovered a few minutes later by his son.

The police suspect personal enmity and monetary dispute as the motive since the family has accused two criminals involved in gambling in Mukherjee Nagar and Rohini of Mr. Lal’s murder. A police officer said Mr. Yadav was into gambling earlier but had quit.

The police are examining CCTV footage from the premises to identify the accused.

In another incident, Manish (30), a native of Uttar Pradesh and resident of a village in outer Delhi, was found stabbed to death in Narela on Wednesday. The police suspect either personal enmity or resistance to robbery as the motive.

The body of the victim, a worker at a food products factory, was found in the bushes in a field. According to the police, the family failed to hear from Mr. Manish after he left home for work in the morning. A case has been registered.
