Sanitation workers shed clothes during protest

Distressed over unemployment, a group of sanitation workers today took off their clothes and held a march here.

Unemployed for the past 93 days, 160 sanitation workers shouted slogans against the and administration.


"The had agreed to include 160 workers in the Municipal Corporation. Haryana's Secretary General RK Khullar gave orders but officials are postponing action," Naresh Kumar Shastri, who led the protest said.

"Names of our children have been struck off school registers. We are unable to pay electricity bills and landlords are asking us to vacate houses," Shastri added.
