New Delhi, Aug 3:
Shares of Bata India today surged almost 7 per cent after the company reported a 19.60 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended June.
The stock soared 6.94 per cent to Rs 624 — its 52-week high — on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock jumped 6.75 per cent to touch a one-year high of Rs 624.50.
The company's net profit rose 19.60 per cent to Rs 60.4 crore during April-June quarter from Rs 50.5 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Bata India said in a statement.
Net sales during the quarter under review grew 10.13 per cent to Rs 743.1 crore from Rs 674.7 crore in the year-ago period.
