The British Council in collaboration with Sangit Kala Mandir will celebrate the rich cultural heritage shared by the two countries in the UK-Year of Culture 2017, Director, British Council, East India, Debanjan Chakrabarti, told PTI here.

"By showcasing two iconic art presentations - the screening of Shiraz on November 3 with the live performance of a youth icon like and performance of Wayne McGregor on November 10 with cutting edge modern technology - we wish to highlight how rich cultural traditions are liked with contemporariness," he said.

Shiraz has a cast of Himansu Rai (Shiraz), Charu Roy (Prince Khurram/Emperor Shah Jahan), Enakshi Rama Rau (Selima/Empress Mumtaz Mahal), Seeta Devi (Dalia), directed by Victor Peers and a British Instructional Films production.
