The KSRTC management has terminated the service of 150 empanelled crew and transferred 137 conductors and 129 drivers who participated in the 24-hour strike called by the AITUC-affiliated Kerala State Transport Employees Union and the BMS-affiliated KST Employee Sang on August 2.
The transfer order of the drivers and conductors issued by the Executive Director, Administration, late on Wednesday said it was being carried out for administrative convenience.
The transfers in the midst of academic year and from north to south and from south to north had come in for criticism among the employees.
The service of the 150 empanelled drivers and conductors who owed their allegiance to the two unions had also been terminated along with this by the management, according to the unions.
The unions had come out against the transfer and had urged the management to withdraw the order. The unions threatened to resort to agitation if the demands were not met.
