Bihar receives rains at most places

With south west monsoon active in since Wednesday, the state received rains at most places today.

Patna, which witnessed cloudy sky for major part of the day, witnessed light rainfall making it sultry. The humidity level in the city was recorded at 89 per cent.

Purnea recorded the highest rainfall of 32.8 mm among major cities in the past 24 hours (recorded between 8.30 am on Wednesday to 8.30 am on Thursday), followed by 9.1 mm in Patna, 5.7 mm in Bhagalpur and 0.6 mm in Gaya, the office bulletin said.

Gaunaha received 13 cm rainfall, Tribeniganj - 9 cm while Thakurganj, Buxar, Taibpur, Jaley, Bhimnagar witnessed rainfall of 7 cm each. Katihar, Sonbarsa, Phulparas, Dhengraghat, Daudnagar receieved rainfall of 6 cm each, it said.

Among the four major cities of the state, Bhagalpur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35 degrees Celsius, followed by 33.4 degrees in Purnea, 31.5 degrees in Gaya and 29.6 degrees in
