Man tries to run over woman in Khan Market

A businessman has been arrested for allegedly trying to run over a woman acquaintance with his car after his wife allegedly slapped the victim following an argument in Khan Market.

The woman, who suffered some injuries, had a narrow escape as she was pulled away in the nick of time. The accused has since been granted bail.

The incident took place last Thursday when the victim had gone to meet Himanshu Bhandari. She was told to come to Khan Market by Himanshu’s wife.

In her complaint, the victim said that she and Himanshu were struggling with “some issues”. The police have said that they are probing the case as a simple accident, and that they are not sure of the motive yet.

The victim reach the market around 4 p.m. During the conversation, she got angry and allegedly abused and slapped the complainant.

‘Was almost crushed’

The victim alleged that when the woman left, Himanshu told her that they should file a complaint against his wife.

The accused then asked the complainant to enter his car. The victims alleged that when she tried to get in the car, the accused tried to run her over. “Had it not been for a parking attendant pulling me away, I would have been crushed under the car,” she claimed.

Himanshu, who sped away, was later arrested and booked for rash and negligent driving and causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others.
