A 28-year-old post-graduate medical student was found hanging from the roof of his room in the college hostel here on Monday.
According to Mangaluru South police, H.K. Prasad, a final year MD (Pathology) student, was staying alone in the hostel of a private medical college. Hostel mates had seen him in the room on Saturday.
The police said that the parents of Prasad, a native of Davangere, were concerned after their son did not answer calls made to his mobile phone on Sunday.
They called the college authorities, who then visited the room to find him hanging from the roof of the room.
The police have recovered a note purportedly written by Prasad.
