The Gurgaon Police today rescued at least 20 people trapped for about an hour inside the lift of a prominent city mall, police said today.
They said the incident occurred last night around 12:30 pm and the visitors were trapped between the second and the third floor of the mall.

The police control room immediately informed officials at the concerned sector 53 police station.
"It was almost trauma for nearly an hour. I had lost hope of coming out alive. Now, I have decided not to use lift until I make sure it is functioning well and the attended is in it," Ritu Arora, a mall visitor, and a resident of the DLF area, told PTI.
Police teams used ladder and hammer to break the glass windshield of the lift from open area.
"The rescue operation continued for at least half an hour. They were rescued using ladders," ACP Manish Sehgal said.
The Gurgaon police have registered an FIR against the mall administration for negligence, the officer added.
