Atta Mohammad Noor, Governor of northern Balkh and leader of Jamiat-e-Islami Party of Afghanistan and Mohammad Mohaqiq, the second deputy to the CEO has issued a draft resolution in which they accused President Ashraf Ghani of working beyond the law and monopolising political power and also sought return of General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the First Vice President.
Noor and Mohaqiq, head of Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan, said that the new coalition "will take shape soon."
They have demanded the unconditional return to office of General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the First Vice President.
Speaking at the first gathering of the new Coalition for the Rescue of Afghanistan, in Mazar-e-Sharif, Noor called on Afghan government to end "monopoly of the Administrative Reform Commission, bringing of reforms in the electoral system" and added "they will return to our work when government implements justice and stop monopolising power."
Raising concerns over the security situation, Balkh governor said, "security is deteriorating in the country and hundreds of Afghans are losing their lives daily. The government's security officials who are incompetent must be dismissed,"the Tolo News reported.
"After this our direction is the Presidential Palace not the CEO's office," he said.
Mohammad Mohaqiq, the second deputy to the CEO also spoke at the event and said that "negotiations with parties have started and soon the coalition will take shape."
The new alliance was formed by leaders from three mainstream Afghan political parties including Jamiat-e-Islami, the National Unity of People of Afghanistan and the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan early July.
Noor and Mohaqiq met separately with Dostum in Turkey to form a new coalition.The coalition had said it does not want the system to collapse; instead it wants systematic reforms to be in place in security institutions.
