Probably the most important model for the company to be launched in India so far, Fiat is betting really big on this SUV.

Jeep Compass is the Jeep's first locally manufactured product in India and is being manufactured at FCA's Ranjangaon facility near Pune.

Bigger beauty than the Cherokee!

Taking cues from its elder sibling, the Grand Cherokee, Jeep Compass' exterior will highlight projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and sleek LED tail-lights. The SUV will have 16-inch steel alloy wheels with the top-trims getting 17-inch alloys.

The Compass, with a ground clearance of 178mm, measures 4,447mm in length, 1,813mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,634mm.

Optimise driving modes

Optimise driving modes

Jeep will offer the Compass with two engine variants - 1.4-litre Multi-air petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine will generate 160 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque while the diesel engine will produce 172 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque.

4 different driving modes- Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud and the higher variants will be available with all-wheel drive system.

Comes within affordability

Jeep dealers have started accepting the bookings of the Compass at an amount of Rs 50,000. The company pricing is expected to vary between Rs 15 lakh - Rs 18 lakh brackets.
