The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has demanded that the Government initiate stringent steps against those indulging in sale of drugs to ensure that the image of the State is not dented.
The Government should bring all those found guilty to book and ensure that the menace was nipped in the bud.
“Severe action like shooting those engaged in drug sale should be initiated as a deterrent. There will be no objection to such encounters from people. The TDP-TS will support the Government if it initiates such measures,” TDP-TS working president A. Revanth Reddy said.
The ongoing investigation being conducted by the Excise department and the police would not suffice and the Government should rope in the services of the Central agencies.
The TRS Government had given permission to 57 pubs in the last three years, according to the information available with him, but actual number could be more.
