GHMC Commissioner inspects six abandoned quarries near Qutbullapur

To prevent accidents near abandoned quarry sites, the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) has come up with a unique plan. After inspecting six abandoned quarries in and around Qutbullapur, the GHMC Commissioner, B Janardhan Reddy has directed the engineering wing officials to fill up these sites with construction debris and waste. The officials were told to organise meeting with revenue officials and speed up the process of levelling the defunct quarries.

Later, the Commissioner also inspected the ongoing works in the area where pipelines were laid but roads were not restored. He asked the officials to take necessary action to improve the condition on the route. The Commissioner also directed the officials to submit the proposals for alternate road from Suchithra to Bank of Baroda near municipal office. He also inspected the road widening works from on IDPL-Balanagar stretch.

In the review meeting held later, the Commissioner conveyed to the officials to create awareness among the citizens to not dump garbage in storm water drains.
