England vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 3: England bowled out South Africa for 175 runs which didn't enforce the follow on but it gave them a commanding lead. At stumps, England were 74/1 and led by 252 runs.

South Africa resumed their innings on 126/8 and looked to avoid follow-on for which they needed 33 runs. Temba Bavuma and Morne Morkel managed to avoid follow on for the visitors but the inning soon ended despite a gutsy fifty from Bavuma. The 175 run end to the South African innings gave England a 178 run lead. They lost Alastair Cook soon after lunch but the main point of the day was the rain. It arrived before lunch to force an early end to first session and then it got heavier in the middle of the second session. There was no play post that. England stood at 74/1 at stumps with umpires deciding to end play early. This gave England a 252 run lead.
