It was a memorable day for students of Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) on Friday as Dadasaheb Phalke awardee K. Viswanath addressed them on the social responsibility of a movie maker.
Mr. Viswanath said movie-goers could encourage good films by not patronising films that lacked social message. “No one knows the secret behind the success of a film. If a movie is successful, there will be 10 movies with the same formula. Social responsibility is not just for films, it should be for every business,” Mr. Viswanath said.
The veteran director said he was privileged to have the admiration of so many people as he had directed good movies. He also added that lives of actors would have an impact on others. The behaviour of family members is influenced by the characteristics of their parents.
College chairman Vasireddy Vidyasagar said that good films have been patronised by people in all times. Director Y. Mallikarjuna Reddy, secretary S. Badari Prasad and Ravi Vadlamani were present.
