Cadre of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its allies formed human chain in various districts in the central region on Thursday demanding that Tamil Nadu be exempted from the National Eligibility – Cum – Entrance Test (NEET). Functionaries of the Congress, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the two Left parties and the Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam took part in the human chain held at Tiruchi, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts. The protest was led by the DMK district heads in the respective districts.
In Tiruchi, the functionaries of DMK and its allies formed a human chain near the railway junction. The party’s north district secretary Kaduvetti N. Thiagarajan, IUML leader Khader Mohideen and others took part.
