The Chief Minister has promised to pave the way for giving away more house-site pattas in Visakhapatnam by resolving the "Panchagramala" issue involving Simhachalam Devasthanam land benefiting more than 12,000 families.
The issue was in court and alternative land would be provided, the Chief Minister said after giving away 21,225 pattas under GO 296 second phase in six Assembly constituencies and under GO 301 for Gajuwaka House Committee lands.
Also the middle class would benefit by regularisation under GO 118 and it was under the consideration of the Cabinet sub-committee and an amicable solution would be found to benefit 21,000 families, he said. Issues relating to Wakf and endowment land would also be resolved, he assured the people.
On the housing front, 12 lakh houses would be constructed in rural areas and 1.93 lakh in urban areas of the State. Before he stepped down as Urban Development Minister Mr Venkaiah Naidu sanctioned another 2.25 lakh houses to the State in which the Centre’s contribution would be ₹ 3400 crore, he said asserting his government would endeavour to provide housing to all.
The total number of pattas given in two phases and under GO 301 was 51911 valued at Rs.8369 crore.
Housing
Construction of 61,497 houses, including 16,520 for urban areas, were going on in the district, the Chief Minister said.
For housing in urban areas a subsidy of ₹3 lakh, with equal share by the Central and State Governments was being given and it was the highest, he said.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said with the Purushotam lift scheme the water problem of Visakhapanam would be solved once and for all.
Uttarandha Sujala Sravanthi Phase I costing ₹2200 crore and sanctioned recently would provide irrigation facility in eight mandals, he said.
Earlier, K. Pusha, who received patta for house-site, said after marrying off her two daughters, she was dependent on the ₹1000 pension and Mr. Chandrababu Naidu turned out to be “her son” taking care of her.
Abdul Ajim, who received patta under GO 301 (Gajuwaka House Committee land) for decades but never got a patta nor even a loan on the house and thanked the Chief Minister for resolving the issue.
Thanking the Chief Minister for resolving the Gajuwaka lands issue, MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao urged him to sanction pattas in APIIC land issue, find a solution to Gangavaram R&R and R-card issue of the steel plant and take up allotment of captive mines to the steel plant.
