Aide of IPS officer's kin held for providing pistol for murder

An accomplice of the younger brother of IPS officer Sanjiv Tyagi has been arrested for allegedly selling a pistol which was used in the of their father here, police said today.

On a tip-off, Johny alias Rajat Chowdhary from a farm house in Kavinagar area for selling the pistol to Anuj Tyagi alias Dabboo and hatching conspiracy for killing his father, police said.


Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh said Dabboo, the younger brother of Sanjiv Tyagi, who at present is posted as SP of District Auraiya.

On the morning of May 11, Dabboo had shot dead his 65- year-old Ishwer Chand Tyagi who was in his sleep at his residence in Raj Nagar colony of the city, police said.

During interrogation Johny confessed that he had sold the pistol to Dabboo for Rs five lakh, they claimed.

Police are interrogating one more named accused to ascertain his involvement in the case.
