Over 62 per cent of children under the age of five years in the national capital suffer from anaemia, Union minister Maneka Gandhi said today.
The Women and Child Development minister also stated that 35.7 per cent children under five years of age across the country were underweight, 38.4 per cent stunted and 58.4 per cent anaemic.
Citing the National Family Health Survey-4, Gandhi told the Rajya Sabha that "62.6 per cent children in the age group of 6 to 59 months are anaemic in Delhi".
