Convene House to discuss drugs case, says BJP

Telangana State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday demanded the Government to immediately convene the Legislative Assembly session to discuss the ongoing drugs case and also the final denouement of other investigations launched in the last three years on scams.

“We request the Governor and the Chief Minister to call for an Assembly session instead of sending emails to the media and (resorting to) blackmail about the ongoing investigations. This Government has the habit of dragging down the process once it comes across names of some bigwigs,” charged State unit chief K. Laxman and Uppal MLA N.V.S.S.Prabhakar at the party office.

Recalling the previous high profile cases of Nayeemuddin, probe into the alleged corruption allegations against former Health Minister T. Rajaiah, leakage of Eamcet paper and the Miyapur land scam, Mr. Prabhakar charged that in all these cases after initial flurry of activity, the investigation of the cases had reached a dead end. “Before efforts are made to dilute the current investigation into the drugs case too, the citizens should have a right to know the facts,” he said, while claiming that the BJP was ready to expose the Government on its failures on various fronts including not fulling promises made in the manifesto on the floor of the Assembly.
