Lenovo owned Motorola on Tuesday (26 July) after the launch of Moto Z2 (read here) launched its new smartphone Moto Z2 Force which comes with ShatterShield, guaranteed not to crack or shatter. Priced at $799 (roughly Rs. 51,500), the handset will go on sale in U.S. from 10 August. The device might soon make an entry in the Indian market. Currently, it is launched in fine gold, super black, and lunar grey shades.
Moto Z2 Force runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat which will be upgraded to Android O. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor. It will be available in two RAM/internal storage configurations -4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The internal storage in both variants is expandable up to 2TB through a MicroSD card.
Moto Z2 Force features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560x1440) POLED ShatterShield display. It sports a 12-MP+12-MP rear dual camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED Flash. On the front is a 5-MP selfie-camera with f/2.2 aperture and front flash.
Moto Z2 is backed by a 2730mAh battery with TurboPower charging. It has a front mounted fingerprint sensor. It measures 155.8x76x6.1mm and weighs 143 grams. The handset is spill proof due to it’s the water repellent nano coating makes the handset spill proof.
Connectivity options are – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, Moto Mods, and Type-C USB. The smartphone doesn't have a 3.5-mm audio-jack, instead, it is routed through USB port which is also used for charging and data transferring.
Motorola also launched new Moto Mods with the smartphone- Moto 360 Camera, moto Gamepad, and JBL Soundboost 2.
