The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday questioned Kavya Madhavan, actress and wife of actor Dileep, in connection with the abduction and sexual abuse of a female actor in Kochi.
According to officials, the interrogation was held at the ancestral house of actor Dileep in Aluva. More details of the interrogation are still awaited.
Meanwhile, the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Angamaly, on Tuesday extended the remand period of actor Dileep, accused in the case, till August 8. The actor was produced before the court through videoconferencing as the remand period of the actor ended on Tuesday.
Considering reports of security threats involved in physically producing the actor, the court had permitted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to produce the actor, currently lodged in the Aluva sub-jail, through videoconferencing.
While considering the remand application, the court asked Dileep whether he had any complaints against the jail authorities. To this, the actor replied in the negative.
Meanwhile, the court also considered the bail application moved by Sunil Kumar, aka ‘Pulsar’ Suni.
The argument of the counsel of Suni will continue on Wednesday.
Earlier, Suni told the mediapersons who were waiting outside the court building here that he had solid evidences in his possession to prove the conspiracy behind the crime.
The SIT is soon slated to serve a notice to P.C. George MLA, asking him to appear for interrogation in connection with the case.
The step follows an earlier statement by Mr. George alleging a conspiracy against actor Dileep.
