A day after the Delhi government issued orders to all officers to report all matters to ministers concerned, the BJP on Tuesday said it was a "sick plea and violative of constitutional provisions".
Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Manoj Tiwari condemned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's orders and said: "Right from the day he came to power, (Chief Minister) Arvind Kejriwal has been trying to browbeat officials to push through his unconstitutional decisions on the pretext of a public mandate."
He said it was shameful that the AAP government was again trying to create controversy over the administrative work of officials despite the fact that both the Delhi High Court and the central government have sternly told it to work within constitutional provisions wherein the Lt. Governor is the administrative authority in most matters.
The BJP leader said Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain's directive to officials not to communicate "views of the department without minister's approval" was violative of constitutional provisions for administrative working in the Union Territory of Delhi.
He asked the government not to forget the High Court ruling in the matter.
Tiwari, who represents the Northeast Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha, asked the Kejriwal government to stop creating ruckus over administrative provisions and threatening government officials and instead concentrate on public welfare works.
