Tourist circuit on Kempegowda to be launched

A tourist circuit connecting places, monuments, buildings in and around Bengaluru linked to Kempegowda, founder of Bengaluru, will be chalked out soon.

Briefing reporters after the first meeting of the Kempegowda Development Authority in Bengaluru on Monday, Energy Minister D K Shivakumar said the tourism department will come out with the circuit soon.

Several places
There are several places of interest related to Kempegowda including the legendary four towers across Bengaluru. Shivakumar said there is also a proposal for setting up an exhibition centre near Kempegowda International Airport to depict the life and times of Kempegowda.

The government also plans to acquire five acres of land in Kempapura village near Magadi where the tomb of Kempegowda is believed to be located, Shivakumar, who is the vice-chairman of the authority, said.
