Suneel Raju and Nischal D came to the rescue of KSCA Colts to leave their fixture against Cricket Association of Bengal nicely poised in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket tournament at the Alur (1) ground on Monday.
In their first hit, Bengal posted a competitive 426 all out in 130.2 overs thanks to the exploits of Sudip Chattejee who scored 134.
The Colts began their innings in an assuring fashion and resumed day three from 125 for one. Top order batsman Nischal, who was not out at 69 on the second day, went on to score 101 off 226 balls.
But it was Suneel who stuck around and his unbeaten innings of 123 off 205 balls powered the Colts closer to Bengal’s total.
At stumps, Colts were at 382 for seven, still 46 runs shy of the visitors’ total.
In another tie, Jharkhand registered a six-wicket victory over Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy to grab all six points from their opening match.
