Central Government sidelining TN: TPDK

more-in

Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) has accused the Central Government of sidelining Tamil Nadu and usurping the State’s rights.

In a resolution passed at its State executive committee meeting held here on Sunday, the outfit said that be it the medical entrance examination or imposition of Hindi or regulation of cattle trade or delay in constituting the Cauvery Management Board, the Centre had sidelined the State.

To condemn the Centre’s policies towards the State and create awareness among people, the outfit would conduct meetings at district headquarters.

The TPDK said it would also hold protests at districts if banks failed to provide chalans in local languages, as per a Madras High Court order in this regard. It wanted the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation to exit the Cauvery Delta districts.

The other demand the TPDK made in its resolution was the release of activists detained under Goondas Act - right from Thirumurugan Gandhi to Salem student Valarmathi.
