England beat India to lift fourth ICC Women’s World Cup title

Indian team stumbled right after Punam Raut's dismissal. From being in a winning position, Indian eves have given the match away.

Punam Raut and Harmanpreet Kaur stand had steadied India's chase after they lost Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj early. The duo scored fifty each to put India in firm control. However, Harmanpreet lost her calm right after completing her half-century. India is eyeing for their maiden World Cup title while Heather Knight-led English side is playing for their fourth ICC trophy.

After two early breakthroughs, Punam Raut has anchored India's chase. Right-hander has scored 73 runs from 97 balls. In her inings so far, she has hit four fours and a maximum.

Riding on Jhulan Goswami's destructive performance, Indian women's team managed to restrict England to 228/7 in the final of the Women's World Cup at the Lord's. Mithali Raj & Co. need 229 runs to win their maiden World Cup and script history. Goswami, who recently became the leading wicket-taker in the history of ODI cricket, was destructive with her bowling. She finished her 10 overs spell for 3/23. She dismissed Sarah Taylor, N Sciver and Wilson and also caught a catch in deep to end Beaumont's innings.

Sciver, who has been brilliant with both bat and ball, put up a great show as she scored a half-century in the final against India.
