At least two policemen were killed after fighters overran a district headquarters in Afghanistan's Faryab province on Sunday, said an official.

According to the Dawn, provincial police chief spokesman Abdul Karim Yourish said that the assault on the Lawlash District headquarters was launched in the façade of darkness late Saturday.

Earlier on Thursday, three policemen were killed and one was injured in an ambush by the Taliban, while the policemen were patrolling in the country's Logar province.
