POCSO ACT as deterrent

Adilabad Superintendent of Police M. Sreenivas on Saturday asked police officers to use Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act wherever necessary so that it can act as a deterrent. He said such a move was necessary to make the society a crime-free entity for future generations. At an awareness meeting for police officers and Prosecution Officers here, the SP asked them to keep an eye on youth taking to crime. He said the youth were committing crime as they were getting addicted to an expensive lifestyle.

Senior Additional Public Prosecutor L.H. Rajeshwar Rao asked police officers to investigate cases thoroughly in the interest of justice. Senior Deputy Director of Prosecutions G. Bhadradri, APP M. Ramana Reddy, Adilabad and Utnoor DSPs A. Laxminarayana and Chandrabhan, Adilabad Rural and Utnoor CIs Purushotham and Ganesh Jadhav respectively besides SIs attended the meeting.
