Madhusudhan Rao, who had gone missing six months ago, was found in Patna Railway Station

The Patna Government Railway Police (GRP) and members of the Childline, an NGO, in association with their counterparts in Vijayawada, restored a 20-year-old specially challenged youth to his parents on Saturday.

A. Madhusudhan Rao, a native of Gopavaram village in Kaikalur mandal in Krishna district, had gone missing six months ago. His parents, A. Koteswara Rao and Rajyalakshmi, had been searching for him since then.

A few days ago, Mr. Madhusudhan met with a road accident in Bihar and was found writhing in pain in the Patna Railway Station. Personnel of the Patna GRP kept him in the care of the Childline, where he was provided treatment.

Later, during counselling, he told the Childline staff that he was from Kaikalur mandal in Andhra Pradesh.

Immediately, the Childline staff contacted Vijayawada Railway Childline coordinator K. Srikanth and city coordinators A. Ramesh and S. Jacob Raju.

“Personnel of the Patna GRP have informed us about the youth. The Childline staff there brought Mr. Madhusudhan to Vijayawada. We then contacted Mr. Koteswara Rao and Rajyalakshmi. On their arrival, we handed over Mr. Madhusudhan to them,” said Vijayawada GRP Circle Inspector Ratna Raju.

“Mr. Madhusudhan’s family members have expressed happiness over the reunion. They thanked the Patna GRP, the Vijayawada Railway Childline and GRP SI Sudhakar, who have taken interest in tracing him,” said Mr. Ramesh.
