A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to two persons accused in a 36-year-old plane hijack case.
The accused had allegedly hijacked an Indian Airlines plane en route to Srinagar from the Capital in 1981 and forced it to land at Lahore. There were 111 passengers and six crew members on-board.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Kler at the Patiala House courts granted bail to Satnam Singh and Tejinder Pal Singh on furnishing a personal bond of ₹2 lakh with two sureties of a like amount. Both accused have already served life imprisonment in Pakistan for different charges. The court also directed the investigating officer of the case to appear before it on July 31, the next date of hearing.
